Meet Jacqui...

Jacqueline Thorogood

Physiotherapist, BSc (Hons) MCSP
HCPC (PH82447)
MAACP and APPI Level 3 Matwork trained
I qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2007 from the University of Hertfordshire and initially spent three years working in the NHS, completing my senior Musculoskeletal rotations at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. This role included working in orthopaedics and burns and plastics (including hand therapy) and it was here that my interests became more specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and treatment for movement restrictions following cancer treatment.

I then moved to private clinics in London treating both sports related injuries and work/posture related injuries. Following this I worked in the Spire Roding Hospital and then a private practice in Essex before deciding to take the plunge and set up my own business.

I am trained in basic and advanced Matwork Pilates as well as acupuncture for pain relief which are both excellent adjuncts to Physiotherapy treatment.

Alongside her interest in sport, I have a particular interest in the benefits of exercise both throughout and following cancer treatment, and in the difficulties of shoulder movement following breast cancer treatment. I have completed three standalone modules of a masters in Oncology and for three years taught a Pilates class specifically tailored to patients who have had cancer treatment.
I enjoy being active with my exercise mostly consisting of being outdoors walking or running with her dog. I’m still trying to work out how to coordinate taking a dog out while cycling…this is a work in progress!
